Nelson Airport Parking

The airport offers long-term and short-term parking options for vehicles of all sizes, including motorhomes, buses, and cars. Motorists can access the car park from four entry points near the terminal building. Additional overflow parking areas are also available during peak times or heavy traffic.

All Nelson Airport car parks are patrolled by professional security staff around the clock for added peace of mind. To help make your journey more convenient, there are cash machines next to each entrance to pay your parking fees in advance if you wish to do so. Payment can also be made at exit kiosks using a credit or debit card before returning to the terminal area after retrieving your vehicle.

Furthermore, there is disabled access to all parts of our car parks, including extra wide bays and wheelchair-accessible spaces close to lifts or ramps leading up towards pedestrian walkways connecting passengers directly into the central terminal building.

Finally, all public transport links from Nelson Airport – such as buses and shuttle services – are fully accessible for passengers with disabilities. All vehicle operators have been trained to provide assistance as required by law. They accept various payment methods. PayWave is accepted at both our entry and exit gates. Credit cards are accepted when using the access arm or a pay station. The pay booths near the terminal accept both EFTPOS and cash payments.

Paying for your Parking at Nelson Airport

The parking services provide multiple easy-to-use payment options.

PayWave

Use your PayWave card at the gate's machine to get access. Please hold your card up the barrier to enter our Value parking lot.

Use the same PayWave card used to enter the parking lot to leave. After 5 seconds (or when all lights turn green), take the card away from the PayWave reader.

Once you've taken your receipt, the barrier will go up.

Credit Card

You can use your credit card to enter the parking lot by placing it into the credit card slot of the ticket machine. Just insert your credit card into the barrier as you enter the Value parking area.

The barrier arm can be lowered by inserting the same credit card used to enter the parking lot into the credit card slot on the exit ticket machine. Keep the card in the slot until told otherwise.

Once you have your receipt in hand, the barrier will rise.

Paying by Cash or EFTPOS

Grab a ticket at the front door and head inside. Enter your parking ticket into the barrier reader when you enter the Value parking lot to raise the barrier.

You can use cash, EFTPOS, or a credit card to purchase at one of the terminal's front-facing payment terminals.

Put your validated parking ticket into the barrier arm's exit ticket machine. When the barrier detects a valid ticket, it will open.
