Trains to and from Christchurch International Airport (CHC)

Taking a train is not an option when you arrive at Christchurch Airport in New Zealand. Passengers are advised to look for other modes of transport, such as taxis, buses, and car rental services.

Taxis are plentiful in the airport and offer reasonable rates for trips to the city center. The journey takes around 15 minutes. Bus services operate outside the main entrance, regularly departing for various destinations throughout Christchurch.

Please see our separate page for taxis and buses to see what is best for you.

Car rental is also available at Christchurch Airport, with various companies providing flexible car hire packages that cater to all budgets and needs. Hiring a car allows you to explore New Zealand's South Island independently and ease your itinerary once you have reached your destination.

For those who prefer to avoid driving themselves, plenty of tour operators offer tours of Christchurch from the airport or anywhere else on New Zealand's South Island by road or air - perfect for exploring this beautiful part of the country without having to worry about transportation arrangements.
