Getting to and from Auckland Airport (AKL)
Both State Route 20A and State Route 20B lead to the AKL airport. Head north on George Bolt Memorial Drive to State Highway 20A from the airport. It is an expressway that runs through Mangare and connects to State Highway 20.
From the airport's eastern exit, State Highway 20B travels across Pakaki Creek and down Puhinui Road until its junction with State Highway 20 in Wiri. SkyBus is an express bus service that travels between the airport, downtown Auckland, and North Harbour.
To get to Britomart Transport Center in central Auckland, riders can get out at either Mount Eden Station or Dominion Road and Queen Street. North Harbour services on the Northern Busway, which also stops at the Akoranga and Smales Farm stations, conclude at the Westfield Albany mall.
The Airport Link connects the airport to Puhinui Railway Station with a Bus Rapid Transit-like service. The Park & Ride bus service between the Airport and Botany Town Centre is the pilot phase of a future complete BRT route, and it serves both short- and long-term parkers.
It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to either the domestic or international terminals from this location. The vast majority of the airport's employees also use the park-and-ride service.
Rental Car Services at Auckland Airport
At Auckland Airport, there is also a range of rental cars available for hire should you wish to explore further afield during your stay in New Zealand's largest city.
Rental car companies such as Hertz, Avis, Budget, and Europcar have offices near both terminal buildings, with vehicles ready to be collected from their respective locations just minutes after booking online or by phone.

Taxi Services at Auckland Airport
For your safety, only authorized taxi services can pick you up at the designated taxi ranks in the airport terminals.
A taxi stand and shuttle bus stop can be found just outside the international terminal's Arrivals Door 8 and the domestic airport's Door 4. Taxis and shuttles are available anytime, whether you make a reservation in advance with one of the below firms or show up at the terminal ranks.
Airport shuttles and taxis have one-way rates between $35 to NZ$90 ($35 for the first person and $8 for each additional person traveling in the same group).

Train Services at Auckland Airport
The Auckland Airport and the city core are not connected by train. Regarding costs, you can ride any form of public transportation in Auckland for a lower fare if you have a special card called AT HOP.
Airporter Bus Line No. 380, which connects to Papatoetoe Train Station, runs from Auckland Airport to the City Center. It runs seven days a week, at intervals of every 15-20 minutes.
Bus: To travel to the Papatoetoe Train Station, you must first board a bus at international or domestic terminals. Usually, the trip takes 20 minutes.
Bus fare: NZ$1.95, one-way; NZ$3.50 without AT HOP card.
Train: Travel to the city's core on the Southern, Eastern, or Onehunga rail lines and board at the Britomart Transport Center. It will take 36 minutes to get there.

Bus Services at Auckland Airport
Bus stop B at the domestic terminal and A at the international airport terminal is where the AirportLink bus departs. Keep an eye out for the orange signs. It runs every 10 minutes from 4.30am to 12.40am, seven days a week.
Between Auckland Airport and Onehunga, bus route 380 travels via Mangere Town Center. It operates every 15 to 20 minutes.
Bus fare: $1.95 for one way; $3.50 for those without AT HOP cards.

Rideshare Services at Auckland Airport
The ridesharing area is outside Door 11 at the international terminal and behind the multi-story parking garage at the domestic terminal.
It costs $4 to pick someone up or drop them off at the domestic terminal, $5 to pick them up or drop them off at the international terminal, and $3 in between.
